Algonquin

Marissa, Lydia, and myself went with out church to Algonquin Canada on Aug. 15 thru Aug. 22.
We went with a group of 30 people. We traveled a total of 75 miles. We carried backpacks weighing over 40lbs. and canoed and portaged the dry land. The terrain was rough, walking on rocks, roots and 90 degree hills. I was unable to carry the canoe, but thankful for the young boys of our group that carried them through the dry land. It seemed that we canoed forever, but at the end of the trip I was in shape.

We slept in tents and drank the water from the lake. The first night I encounterd a bear, that went up to my tent, but walked away. So our nights were very interesting.

My girls did great, and we thank the Lord for helping us get us through it.
